Professionally, I am (pretty much in this order) a musicologist, educator, administrator, blogger, accompanist, organist, horn player, and composer/arranger. I am the chair of the music department at the University of Mary Washington (Fredericksburg, Virginia, USA).
Beyond that, I’m an Episcopalian, vegetarian father of three with two retired greyhounds. My favorite things include sourdough toast with lemon marmalade (when you can find it), and cinnamon ice cream (which seems even more scarce). And I’m partial to the writings of Alan Bennett and Dorothy L. Sayers.
Pronouns: he/him/his. My last name is pronounced as if the “y” were an “r”: KIRK-in-dahl.
